Adam and Yisrael – Creations for Gratitude

Moshe Rabbeinu did not bring about the first three plagues on Mitzrayim. The reason Chazal give us is because he owed them gratitude for saving him and therefore it would have been inappropriate to create a negative force from them. Blood and frogs came  through the water and Moshe was saved  by being placed in a basket in the reeds.

KERIYAS YAM SUF STEP BY STEP 5772

The Rabbeinu Bachya writes in his introduction to parshas Beshalach a novel explanation nconcerning Keriyas Yam Suf. It did not occur as commonly interpreted that Hashem miraculously paved a road in the middle of the Sea at the very start. Rather the water remained in front of them every step of the way. Only while forging forward did the water remove itself another step. The Yidden did not see the unobstructed road in front of their eyes as believed. Instead there was a test of bitachon for them on every step of the crossing.

PARSHAS SHIRA – MISSING IN ACTION 5771

The mitzvah of tzitzis is directly related to Yetzias Mitzrayim. The eight strings tied on the talis katon symbolizes the eight days that transpired from the exodus of Egypt until the crossing of the Red Sea (Rashi end of Shelach). Question? There were only seven days in between and not eight? Some mefarshim count Erev Pesach as one of the days of the exodus since by slaughtering the karban pesach we left the avodah zarah of Mitzrayim which had a hold on us.
