Lag B'Omer

SEFIRAH - LAG BAOMER AND STANDING ON CEREMONIES 5771

Sometimes we unfortunately stand on ceremonies. Because of a sudden emotional upset one can erroneously arrive at a decision for example that since he was not given the proper expected amount of kovod that he felt he deserved, he refuses to attend his friend’s simcha. Many times we exaggerate and distort the “small stuff” which leads to damaging even our long time relationships to the point that we might actually severe them because of our hurt or resentment.

Lag B'Omer and the Verticle Man

The gemarrah in Chagiga 12b presents two contradictary statements referring to the dimensions of Adam Harishon’s. One statement declares that his dimensions reached from the earth up until the heavens. Another statement is that as he lay on the ground east to west, his length measured from the end of the world to the other. The gemarrah answers that both interpretations equal the same measurement.  What life force message can we glean from these deep words of our Sages in this passage?
